Prior to joining the TEI team, Mary Ellen, achieved her Master's Degree in Natural Health focusing on aromatherapy. Her passion is in developing AroMandalas that partner with each of Maureen's CDs in order to enhance the meditations and to portray in essence the experience of our sacred journeys.
Essential oils have been used since ancient times to lift the spirit and enhance the energies of the body. To replicate these beautiful rituals and intensify the quality of your meditations, place a few drops of the blend in the palm of your hand and rub both palms together "stirring" the oils. Place your hands in the prayer position, cover your nose and inhale deeply. Then apply a drop to your third eye and both temples. Now you are ready to begin your meditation.
Congratulations, Mary Ellen!This is my first time doing the MerKaBa with the addition of an aromatic component, so this was a transformative experience for me. The most prevalent scent in the oil in my opinion is the cassia bark so I immediately absorbed the aromatherapy effects of cinnamon: physical and mental stimulation, a feeling of awakening, of being alive! I was more present and in the moment, making the act of doing the MerKaBa spontaneous and fresh. On a physical level, it was as if the oil stimulated my very blood, and the "buzz" was carried throughout my body. Having the oil to fill my senses slowed my breathing down, which intensified my meditation dramatically; every inhalation brought a wave of intensity, making the MerKaBa easier to visualize.
